Sexy Fish to open in Manchester

Caprice Holdings has announced that it will open a Manchester site of luxury cocktail bar Sexy Fish this autumn.

With spots already in London’s Mayfair (opened in 2015) and Miami, Florida (2022), the Manchester outpost of the Instagram-friendly cocktail bar represents the third Sexy Fish site.

The new bar, near Deansgate, will include artworks from Damien Hirt, ‘fish lamps’ designed by Frank Gehry, glass columns created by artisans from the Venetian island of Murano (a major centre of high-end glassmaking), a cascading waterfall and a private dining room, dubbed ‘The Tropical Reef Room’, which features a large aquarium of exotic fish.

As for the liquid that doesn’t have guppies swimming around in it, the bar boasts of “the largest Champagne collection in the country”, with 75 different references. Four cocktails have also been exclusively developed for the Manchester branch, including ‘Tonic & Mango’, which costs £12 (Thomas Dakin Gin, tonic water, mango, coconut, and pandan).

For food, chef director Bjoern Weissgerber’s East Asian-inflected menu includes Sexy Fish favourites, like duck salad, black cod, king crab, and smoked tuna belly. A press release also stated that there would be some dishes exclusive to Manchester.

Richard Caring, Caprice Holdings chairman, said: “Myself and the entire company are extremely excited to bring Sexy Fish to the vibrant and amazing city of Manchester this autumn. Manchester follows on from the successful restaurants in London and Miami. Caprice Holdings as a company has an affinity with the city, and we believe that Sexy Fish will be loved and enjoyed by the people of Manchester. I repeat, we are truly excited and look forward to being in one of the greatest cities in the UK, and the world.”
